Fully powered by solar energy, the Stelle Vita possesses the comfortable interior space of a motorhome and can run as far as 730 km per day.

Stella Vita is the world’s first solar-powered motorhome. The car was designed by a group of students from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands.

The car looks like a water droplet, which, according to automotive design engineers, is an aerodynamic shape with minimal air resistance.

The high and long roof of the vehicle allows for a large area up to 17.5 m2 to install solar panels. The energy generated from these panels not only helps the car travel long distances up to 730 km/day, but is also enough to power coffee machines, TVs or other electronic devices inside the vehicle. Besides, the car is also equipped with a plug, allowing the battery to be recharged.

Additional solar panels can also be opened to either side on top of the car to double the area, for better solar energy absorption and shorter charging time.

The interior of the car is designed like a high-end motorhome, with full amenities such as bedroom, living room, bathroom, toilet, kitchen… The car can reach a maximum speed up to 120 km/h.

During the operation test, the students participating in the project drove the Stella Vita relying solely on solar energy, and succeeded in traveling up to 2,000 km from the University of Eindhoven to the South of Spain.
