Recently, at Con Co power station, Quang Tri Power Company has completed and put into operation the 2nd rooftop solar power system with a capacity of 35kWp, adding new power sources to the island district.
Previously, with the 20kWp rooftop solar power system located at Con Co power station, it was transmitted directly to the 26.709kWh grid system, greatly reducing the operation costs of diesel generators.
On sunny days, this rooftop solar system provides about 20%-30% of the power consumption in the area to reduce diesel generator operation, so as to increase economic efficiency and contribute to environmental protection.
The 2nd rooftop solar power system with the 20kWp rooftop solar power system installed in 2019 at Con Co power station – power plant has raised the total rooftop solar power capacity of Con Co to 55kWp.
Con Co Island is an area far from mainland, making the moving of national grid from the mainland to the island difficult. With the addition of the 35kWp rooftop solar power system, there will be more renewable power sources based on the natural advantages of Con Co island.
