The Ministry of Industry and Trade is collecting people’s comments on the draft of National Energy Master Plan 2021-2030, vision 2050.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam’s energy economy has changed rapidly over the past few decades. Vietnam has many types of domestic energy sources such as crude oil, coal, natural gas … These energy sources have played an important role in economic development in the last two decades. In the past, exports of crude oil and coal were important contributors to the national budget. But in recent years, energy imports have had a strong tendency to increase.
To overcome difficulties and challenges, ensure adequate energy supply to meet the needs of economic development, society and national security and defense of the country, the construction of the “National Energy Master Plan 2021-2030, vision 2050” is really necessary.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the master plan is made with the following specific objectives:
Exploit and efficiently use domestic energy resources in combination with reasonable energy export and import. Actively produce a number of major equipment in the energy sub-sectors, upgrade and build advanced and modern power transmission and distribution grids.
Based on the current situation and forecast of socio-economic development trends, energy demand assessment for the period 2011-2018, foreseeable plans on energy demand are made based on the fuel types and on the economic sub-sectors in the periods 2021-2030 and 2031-2050.
Studying the solutions on developing energy sub-sectors and using energy efficiently, selecting certain options with highly feasible good technical and economic indicators, ensuring adequate energy supply for socio-economic growth, in regards of the strong development of renewable energy sources.
Considering the industry and regional links, as well as the linkage and synchronization of the master energy sector infrastructures between domestic and international regions. Listing out the national important projects, prioritized investment projects of the energy sub-sectors…
