Building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV)
Building-intergrated photovoltaic (BIPV) is the photovoltaic (PV) material that is used to replace conventional building materials in the components of roof, windows or facades. They have been gradually integrated into the construction of new buildings as the main or auxiliary power supply. The advantage of the integrated PV systems over the conventional non-integrated ones is that the initial costs can be offset by the reduced amount of money spent on building materials and labor to construct parts of buildings where BIPV modules are replaced. This advantage makes BIPV one of the fastest growing segments of the PV industry.
